The Vilmers Design Award was established to help answer these questions.
To find the designer of tomorrow, with an eye for aesthetic design and a passion for functional and sustainable furniture.

It doesn’t matter to us if you are top of your class at one of the world’s most respected design schools, a self-taught furniture lover or you’re just starting on your journey as a professional designer. What we’re looking for is passionate designs, forward thinking ideas and unexpected solutions. So literally anyone!

1000€ – Winning Sofa design
1000€ – Winning chair design
500€ – Winning footstool, bench, daybed design
You can send in a maximum of one entry for each of the following categories:
→ Sofas
→ Armchairs
→ Foot stools, benches, day beds
You’re able to present your proposal(s) with text, sketches, 2D or 3D rendered photos, sound and/or video.

Tell us how you arrived at your final design(s) and in what way your contribution fits in with the Vilmer’s brand.
Tell us how your design tackles issues like comfort, functionality, aesthetics, and climate impact throughout the sofa’s life cycle.
Impress us. Surprise us. Challenge us. And above all;
convince us through forward thinking design and attention to detail.
We do not need prototypes. But we want to see;
sketches / 3D drawings or renderings and a brief text regarding functionality, design, materials and use.
Submit your design proposal in PDF formats where possible, including a completed competition form / link.

All design applications, apart from the winning designs will be returned to their designers after the close of the competition. Vilmers will hold no rights to these returned designs. // Ownership of the winning designs will pass to Vilmers with a royalty paid to the designer(s) for each product sold. These designs and their designers will work in partnership with Vilmers to create and produce a finished product that will be added to the Vilmers collection
